Every Autumn, this tree is one of the last to lose its leaves in the Botanical Gardens here in Wellington. And, just before it does, the leaves turn the brightest yellow. The shape of the branches reminds me of a dancer….

7am this morning. Stunning – and brief.

I like the hint of Autumn sky behind here, and the way the branches frame the tower.

It was the light in this view that got me. The sun is setting and is just catching the trees and house between us and the hazy blue hillscape beyond.

Californian Redwood right here in lil’ol’ Wellington. Running through the very Autumnal Botanical Garden today really put my head straight.

Autumn cometh. Dark at 5.30pm.

Experimenting with posting from my iphone

…you might see Charlotte’s Web strung across the dying fronds of summer flowers.

A beautiful day on the harbour with the safety boat beetling about – and a stunning sunset to finish.

Poised on stilts over the water at the edge of Wellington harbour, this wee boathouse is the most cheerful in a row of them, between Balleana Bay and Greta Point. Snapped on the iphone (hence the grainy-ness) as I jogged past in the late afternoon sun.

Wouldn’t life always be that little bit more interesting if you lived here, at the mercy of the elements, sheltered by your scarlet tin roof and royal-purple weatherboards?

Shot during dinner from the deck. Great colours as the night draws in (which is now about 6pm…)

No photoshopping or other enhancements on this. Straight out of the camera to you.
